COMMEMORATION EVENT OF 55th ANNIVERSARY OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN NORWAY AND THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY HELD IN OSLO
In honor of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Kingdom of Norway, an academic conference on the topic "Mongolians in memory of Oscar Mamen" was organized in Oslo on October 12, 2023. The conference was followed by an exhibition of photographs, letters, travel notes, artifacts of the Norwegian traveler Oscar Mamen, who traveled and lived in Mongolia at the beginning of the 20th century.
Ambassador of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Norway, H.E Mr. T. Janabazar, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway H.E Mr. A. Brun and Mongolian researchers Dr. O.Batsaikhan from the Institute of International Affairs of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Norwegian Doctoral Research Fellow Ms. Maria Kartveit from the University of Oslo, Dr. Joslyn Dudding of the University of Cambridge, Norwegian researcher Maria Magdolna Tatar, Professor Konagaya Yuki of the National Museum of Ethnology of Japan, Researcher Mitsuko Watanabe from Japan, and representatives of the Norwegian-Mongolian Association participated in the conference and exhibition.
On this occasion, Ambassador Janabazar met and expressed his gratitude to Oscar Mamen's family for preserving the important collection of photography and documents related to Mongolian history and culture for many years and later making them available to the public with the donation to the Museum of Cultural History,
